SELF-DEFENSE TRAINING FOR
CLASS 8 GIRLS
Indian Learners Own Academy organized a self-
defense training session for Class 8 girls on 4th
February 2025. This empowering initiative
aimed to equip students with essential self-
defense techniques, instilling confidence,
awareness, and the ability to protect
themselves in challenging situations.
The session commenced with an inspiring
address by Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Asha Sharma,
who underscored the importance of self-
defense in today’s world. She emphasized that
self-defense is not merely about physical
strength but also about mental resilience, self-
confidence, and the ability to stay composed
under pressure—skills that are invaluable for
every individual.
Professional martial arts trainers Mr. Thomas
and Mr. Romeo conducted the session,
demonstrating practical self-defense
techniques tailored for real-life situations.
Students actively participated, learning crucial
moves such as blocking attacks, escaping holds,
and responding effectively in emergencies. The
trainer also highlighted the significance of
situational awareness, quick reflexes, and
maintaining a strong presence of mind to
ensure personal safety.
The training was highly interactive and
engaging, with students practicing the
techniques under expert supervision. Their
enthusiasm and determination showcased the
vital role of such sessions in fostering self-
assurance and preparedness. Many students
expressed that the training made them feel
stronger, more aware, and better equipped to
handle unforeseen circumstances.
The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of
thanks delivered by Vice Principal Mrs. Jaseela,
who expressed gratitude to the trainer and
encouraged students to apply their learning in
daily life.
This self-defense training program was a
pivotal step in empowering young girls with the
skills, mindset, and confidence to protect
themselves. Indian Learners Own Academy
remains dedicated to creating a safe,
supportive, and empowering learning
environment for all its students.
