                                          Well-Being

                                               November 19, 2023

On the 19th of November 2023, ILOA hosted a virtual seminar with the esteemed speaker, Mr.
Mohammed Younus, aiming to equip students with tools and strategies for excelling in exams
while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Despite the virtual setting, the atmosphere was charged
with anticipation as students and teachers eagerly awaited Mr. Younus's insights.
The seminar had three primary objectives. First, it sought to optimize exam preparation by
providing actionable tips and strategies. Mr. Younus emphasized the importance of a well-
structured study plan, active learning methods, and effective resource utilization. Strategies for
creating realistic study schedules, setting priorities, and overcoming procrastination were also
discussed. Second, the seminar focused on stress management, offering techniques to alleviate
the pressures associated with exams. The correlation between physical health and academic
success was highlighted, with an encouragement for students to prioritize sleep, nutrition, and
regular exercise. Lastly, a comprehensive approach to education was cultivated by underscoring
the significance of mental and emotional well-being, and practical tips on maintaining a healthy
lifestyle during exam periods were also shared.
Mr. Younus's dynamic presentation style was evident from the outset. He began with a humorous
self-introduction, pronouncing his name as You-n-us, setting a tone of engagement. In his one-
and-a-half-hour session, he covered diverse aspects of effective learning, including different
learning styles such as visual, auditory, writing/reading, and kinesthetic learning. This highlighted
the importance of recognizing individual learning preferences.
Mr. Younus also delved into spaced revision, active learning, and the development of positive
learning habits, including daily learning, organization, routine creation, and self-care. The
interactive Q&A session further enriched the experience, with Mr. Younus providing insightful
responses. Notably, his creative answer to the question about studying for multiple tests on the
same day — "we can have 5 lunches in a single day" — showcased a practical and memorable
          approach to managing time pressure.
In conclusion, the seminar by Mr. Mohammed Younus provided an enlightening and empowering
experience for students, offering a comprehensive guide to academic success and well-being. The
strategic blend of effective study techniques, stress management strategies, and the emphasis on
holistic well-being left an indelible mark on the school community. Mr. Younus's engaging
presentation style and insightful advice equipped students with practical tools for both academic
achievement and personal growth, fostering a positive mindset towards learning and self-
          discovery.
